Many relationships have turned violent due to stress, unemployment, and economic hardship. </p>
<p>If a person loses their job and the lack of money becomes a major factor in a stressful relationship that person could turn to alcohol and drugs to numb the emotions they are bottling up inside. Not being able to pay the bills can become a source of stress for any relationship. Feelings of failure and depression can lead a person to turn to external factors to relieve their pain. Alcohol and drugs can change the behavior of a person and turn a relationship into a violent one. </p>
<p>There are over three million domestic abuse calls to law enforcement each year. Police who enter into a domestic abuse situation are more likely to be killed in the line of duty due to a domestic abuse victim lashing out at the police for arresting their partner. The sense of loyalty an abused partner has toward their abuser is a factor that is still being studied today by psychologists. Police officers have been trained in how to deal with domestic abuse cases due to the uncertainty and risk they face between the abuser and the abused. <p>Bringing out the main issues that is causing the relationship to become toxic can be a major point in fixing a relationship. Separation or divorce could end up being the ultimate decision in a relationship that is beyond saving. During the Dynastic era, ancient Egyptian females who were thought to be dancers and prostitutes were found with tattoos of dots and lines on their abdomens, thighs, and breasts. Scholars and excavators who thought these mummified women were of dubious status, thought that the markings were created to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. </p>
<p>But the markings were later found to be that of amulets that were drawn on women during difficult pregnancies and birth. These markings were thought to be omens for protection against still births. Egyptian females who were found with dots on their abdomen were compared to the bead nets that were placed over wrapped mummies to protect them after burial. The tattoo dots were distributed over the thighs in the form of the letters bes. The bes was the name of an Egyptian deity called the protector of women in labor. </p>
<p>The first <a href="http://www.tattoo-designs-tips.com/" title="Tattoo Designs Tips"><strong>tattoo designs</strong></a> were thought to have been made by older Egyptian gypsy women and used on younger Egyptian girls between the ages of five and six. These gypsy women would use multiple needles tied together, dipped in a woman&#8217;s breast milk, and placed on the abdomen to make dotted patterns of lines and diamonds. These tattoos were meant to safeguard the young girls through puberty, and then eventually pregnancy and childbirth. Men were also adorned with tattoos during 1300 BC. The mummified body of an Scythian Pazyryk male was found in Siberia in 1948. The body showed tattoo patterns of mythical animals found on his arms, legs, and torso. These tattoos were thought to be a sign of nobility, and were a mark of high status. </p>
<p>Romans used tattoos to brand slaves and criminals, and other cultures used tattoos as a mark of status and rank. Cultures who have been using tattoos throughout history are, Greeks, ancient Germans, Gauls, Thracians, and ancient Britons. During the 18th and 19th centuries, Europeans used tattoos at the fair and the circus. The circus use of tattoos became so popular that other cultures started to catch on. Americans, Native Americans, and Polynesians started using tattoos as a circus act. </p>
<p>The functions that tattoos have served have changed throughout history. Where they were once used for religious and protection rituals, they are now used for recreation. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most accurate definition of a dream is an experience of the mind while in the sleeping state that involves the sequence of different or similar emotions, sounds, and images. Interest and speculation in what dreams consist of and their overall purpose has existed for years throughout history. </p>
<p>Oneirology is the study of the dreams and with the aid of technology has helped scientists come closer to what they feel the answers to their curiosity are. Dreaming is an important aspect to most individual&#8217;s lives because it is the way they escape from the harsh realities of the world to enter one that generally feels better whether they are aware or unaware of any of it happening. What is the meaning of this life experienced outside of a person&#8217;s external life? What is the purpose behind dreaming? For many, those curiosities come into question as well. And for those many, here are some popular ideas given for the phenomenon that is dreaming. </p>
<p>Physiology, dreams are considered to be a reaction to the neural processes emitted while the body is asleep. Psychologically, dreams are thoughts of reflections of the mind subconsciously that fill the psyche. Spiritually, dreams are depicted as a message or messages either sent from a high power, those who have passed away, or predictions of what is to come in the future, either near or far. Several more hypotheses on dreams include viewing dreams as a way to test and select mental schemas, dreams being the result of disassociated imagination, and dreams acting as an adaptive function for survival. </p>
<p>The purpose of dreams is also suggested to be the mind&#8217;s way of allowing repressed parts to reach a level of satisfaction by indulging in fantasy while prohibiting the mind&#8217;s conscious state from feeling thoughts that could force the body into a sudden state of being awake. Jewish Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud believed that nightmares were the brain&#8217;s way of allowing the subconscious to exercise and eventually gain control of emotions that stem from experiences of a distressful nature. Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung believed that dreams creates balance for attitudes of a one-sided nature that are held while conscious and awake. </p>
<p>Hungarian psychoanalyst Sándor Ferenczi believed that dreams are a way that people can communicate in their dream state what they cannot say in their waking state. Dreams are suggested to regulate mood. What may or may not be realized is that dreams can very well be a result of all of these hypotheses and suggestions put together. </p>
<p>While life is lived one way, a dream is lived in another. It is meant to act as a place where thoughts are safe, the dreamer is safe, and those experiences that may be difficult to face in actual life. Although the meaning of dreams is not definitive, it can definitely be defined as a place where the bad things cannot touch you, a place where only you can go, and a place that you may want to visit regularly for those reasons.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is estimated that upwards of 100+ million Americans have regular <a href="http://sleep-debt.com/" title="Sleep Debt"><strong>sleep problems</strong></a>, of this number some 40 million have identifiable &#8220;sleep disorders&#8221;, and a staggering 75% of the total population is walking around deprived of sleep on a regular basis. Studies show it only is getting worse with each passing decade, and there are no signs of the situation becoming any better. </p>
<p>In fact, over the past 5 years alone there has been a startling 33% increase in those of us reporting trouble sleeping! Can you imagine what statistics in another decade will be like? Unfortunately, it does not look like we are heading in the right direction. </p>
<p>In our busy, fast-paced lives, it seems we are constantly moving, thinking, and trying to get &#8220;more&#8221; done and generally be more productive. The first thing many of us think of doing when we do have so-called &#8220;free time&#8221; is to catch up on a little TV or do some activity that we have &#8220;not had the time to do&#8221;, aside from catching up on our sleep. And greater quality and quantity sleep is exactly what most of us really need.</p>
<p>Sleep studies clearly show that not receiving the quality and quantity sleep affects our lives in negative ways, sometimes greatly. It can change the way we see and experience our lives and the world around us in dramatic ways.</p>
<p>Some of the following can help us identify when we might not be achieving enough quality sleep each night:</p>
<p>    * Feelings of tiredness at some point throughout the day<br />
    * Falling asleep within a few minutes when going to bed<br />
    * Decreases in levels of intolerance and increased levels of hostility<br />
    * Reduced ability to concentrate<br />
    * Slowed reflexes<br />
    * Impaired judgment<br />
    * Apathy<br />
    * Unusual weight gain or loss<br />
    * Change in body temperatures that lead to feelings of chilliness<br />
    * Unusual levels of anxiety<br />
    * Falling asleep when inappropriate<br />
    * Reduced creativity<br />
    * Reduced ability to think logically or handle complex tasks<br />
    * Increased levels of self-consciousness with increased levels of anxiety</p>
<p>If you find any of these attributes apply to you, you might want to sleep a little longer or sounder each night.</p>
<p>Amazingly, one of the quickest ways to improve the quality of our lives and waking hours, as the statistics show, is to simply get a better night&#8217;s sleep. It is such a simple answer to such a complex problem.</p>
<p>If you are having troubles falling asleep, there are things you can do that can help you very quickly. Yes, the following might seem obvious to many folks, but sometimes we miss the obvious. So, let&#8217;s cover some quick and easy ones first.</p>
<p><strong>Two Things to Avoid: Caffeine and Nicotine</strong></p>
<p>Reduce the levels of caffeine used throughout the day. Studies show that people who have insomnia already have a higher metabolic rate (typically 9%) than those who are sleeping normally. It would take about 4 cups of coffee to raise a normal sleepers metabolism to the same rate. From this metabolic indicator, although the person with insomnia does not feel wide awake and shows all the signs of not achieving enough sleep, we can see that a person who intakes caffeine actually on average is highly physiologically aroused. After all, caffeine is a stimulant!</p>
<p>The short of it&#8230;reduce the levels of caffeine intake throughout the day. Obviously, we are not going to say quit totally, even though it can help. Of course, the last thing you want to do is drink the caffeine within a few hours (three or more) before attempting to go to sleep.</p>
<p><strong>List of items, both food and beverages, that may contain caffeine:</strong></p>
<p>    * Coffee &#8211; Brewed (drip or percolated), Instant, Many so-called &#8220;decaffeinated&#8221; coffees<br />
    * Tea &#8211; Brewed (drip or percolated), Instant, Many so-called &#8220;decaffeinated&#8221; coffees<br />
    * Cocoa<br />
    * Chocolate (Light, Dark, Baker&#8217;s, etc.): Beverage or Food.  This includes hot chocolate milk.<br />
    * Most Sodas: Including &#8220;Diet&#8221; and &#8220;Clear&#8221; Sodas &#8211; Coke, Diet Coke, Mr. PIBB, RC Cola, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi, Canada Dry, and many others</p>
<p>Next, nicotine intake can have a dramatic affect on our ability to get a good night&#8217;s rest. Just like caffeine, nicotine is a stimulant. Smoking is the primary way of ingesting nicotine. Smoking can raise blood pressure, stimulate brainwave activity, and increase heart rate.</p>
<p>Studies have shown that smokers actually have greater difficulties falling asleep and wake more times during the night. It is possible the later is a symptom of withdrawal. And, when people have quit smoking after regularly smoking from 1 to 3 packs of cigarettes a day over at least a two year period of time, studies have clearly found it is easier to fall asleep and sleep more soundly with less awakenings at night.</p>
